License to Carry (LTC) classes are presented monthly at Martin Farms. Texas requires a training course that is a minimum of 4 hours long and a maximum of 6 hours long. Your instructor will require you to pass a written exam with a 70% score as well as a shooting proficiency test. To pass the shooting test you must fire up to 50 rounds at distances of 3 yards, 7 yards, and 15 yards. Texas has reciprocity agreements with many other states. This means that with a Texas CHL you will be allowed to carry a concealed weapon in those states. Successful completion of this course entitles the student to apply for a license to carry a handgun in the State of Texas. These classes are expertly taught by Kenneth Martin who is a Certified Handgun Instructor. Reservations for classes are required. You must be 21 years old to register for this class. Only prepaid reservations are honored. Class fee is $100.00. All classes begin at 8:00 and are dismissed between 2:00-3:00
Every student should bring to class the following: their gun with 50 rounds ammunition, hearing protection, and eye protection.
Plenty of seats available for the May and June License to Carry classes! Saturday, May 3 and Saturday, June 1 are open for reservations at this time. Seats are reserved by pre-registration and payment of $100.00 per seat. You are welcome to mail in a check or call us with credit card payment! We would LOVE to see you, so feel free to come by during open hours and register in person!
Basic Pistol Safety Classes are taught by Mr. Martin, by reservation. These are private classes designed to educate those who are new to firearms in general. Class fee includes the opportunity to shoot a variety of different pistols. Class includes basic gun safety and firing instruction; pistols and ammunition. Students are welcome to bring their own gun!
ATTENTION! All Ladies who love practicing with their pistols! Sunday, May 4th from 2:00-4:00, you are welcome to join us for firearms games with Kenn. He usually has several fun and challenging activities for us. All you need is a reservation, $20.00, and a 22 pistol with 100 rounds or so. Looking forward to seeing you!
